Our recruitment and training programs are tailored to the regions where we recruit:

Philippines:
Through the Norwegian Training Center (NTC) Cadet Program, we have more than 40 cadets enrolled in training and serving on board our vessels at any given time. Upon successful completion of the scholarship program, many cadets continue their careers with Odfjell and progress through the ranks. Applications for the NTC Cadet Program open annually in mid-July.

Norway:
Odfjell is one of the largest recruiters of cadets and trainees in the Norwegian maritime cluster. Each year, around 20 cadets and trainees join our dedicated training vessels to gain hands-on competence at sea. Many continue their careers with Odfjell, while others use the experience as a springboard to opportunities across the maritime industry. Brazil:
Flumar recruits its cadets from the Merchant Marine Training School in Brazil, EFOMM - Escola de Formação de Oficiais da Marinha Mercante | CIAGA, which is located at two Brazilian Navy Centers. The cadets embark on board the Flumar Fleet to complete their one-year cadetship. Our goal is to provide a well-integrated learning environment that drives long-term development, ensuring our trainees transition into permanent officer roles within our fleet.

Training is a continuous part of a career at Odfjell. From your first day on board and throughout your career, you'll have access to training that helps you develop your technical expertise, leadership skills, and understanding of safe and efficient vessel operations.

Our instructors include experienced professionals from both sea and shore, as well as experts from our partners. Using modern training facilities and state-of-the-art simulators, seafarers can practice technical procedures and safety-critical operations before joining a vessel.

In addition to technical and safety training, we offer development in areas such as leadership, teamwork, AI and digitalization, helping our people adapt to new technologies and prepare for the future of shipping.

Odfjell's vessels are equipped with modern accommodation, facilities, and technology to provide a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment, both on and off duty.

Our crews enjoy nutritious meals, onboard gyms, and recreational areas. On selected vessels, additional amenities, such as swimming pools and basketball courts, support well-being and an active lifestyle at sea.

Yes. All Odfjell vessels are equipped with reliable internet access on board for both work and personal use.

Rotations vary by rank and vessel type, but we aim for predictable schedules that balance sea and shore life.

Philippines & Brazil:
Rotations are dynamic and depend on operational requirements. The schedule are closely reviewed and monitored by the Crew Planning team in coordination with other relevant teams and departments.

Norway:
1:1 in a rotation of seven-eight weeks on, seven-eight weeks off.
